Abstract

The library in pesantren plays a strategic role as a learning center that supports the development of students' academic and spiritual potential. This article explores how the library can serve as a primary facilitator in promoting these two crucial aspects. On the academic side, the library provides access to various scientific literature and educational resources that allow students to expand their knowledge and intellectual skills. This includes support for the implemented curriculum, providing space for independent learning, and facilitating interdisciplinary learning. Meanwhile, on the spiritual side, the pesantren library also plays a critical role by offering rich religious literature, supporting religious activities, and strengthening the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings. The synergy between academic and spiritual development enables the library to function as an agent of holistic character formation, integrating intellectualism with spirituality. This article concludes that the library holds a central role in supporting education in pesantren and offers several recommendations for optimizing this role, including increasing the collection of literature, strengthening integrative activities, and fostering collaboration between library management and educators. Therefore, the pesantren library can continue to significantly contribute to shaping students who are not only knowledgeable but also morally upright.
