Abstract

Arabic language education in pesantren plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of religious sciences. However, the challenge of increasing students' interest and motivation is a major concern, especially when traditional teaching methods are still predominantly used. This article discusses the importance of innovation and the application of creative methods in teaching Arabic in pesantren while respecting the existing cultural and traditional values. These innovations include the use of educational technology, language games, drama, real-life situation simulations, and collaborative projects aimed at creating a more dynamic and relevant learning environment for today's students.These creative methods not only help students better understand Arabic but also enhance their engagement and motivation in the learning process. The article also emphasizes the importance of balancing modern technology use with traditional approaches that are integral to pesantren identity. Thus, the innovation and creative methods applied can provide solutions to overcome the monotony of traditional learning and encourage students to master Arabic more effectively and practically. Ultimately, the primary goal of this learning is to prepare students to not only have strong language skills but also to be able to apply this knowledge in everyday life and in a broader religious context.
