Abstract

This article aims to outline the development of a poetry writing learning model in Vocational High Schools (SMK) using an experiential learning approach. This approach was chosen for its ability to connect theory with practice through direct experience, which effectively enhances students' understanding and skills. The model is designed to address common challenges in teaching poetry at SMK, such as student engagement and time constraints. The implementation of this model is expected to demonstrate improvements in students' poetry writing skills, as well as enhance their motivation and interest in literary arts education. Evaluation involves assessing the quality of the produced poems and gathering feedback from students and teachers about their learning experiences. Therefore, it is expected to make a significant contribution to teaching practices in SMK by offering an innovative and relevant approach. This learning model not only enriches students' learning experiences but also strengthens crucial self-expression skills within the context of vocational education. Findings from this research could serve as a basis for developing more creative and applicable curricula in vocational education.
